I'm having an annoying issue with Opera while playing video content on any website (Youtube, Netflix, HBO etc.). When I maximise the window to fit the entire screen, there's a thin white bar that could be seen at the upper edge above the title bar.
I'm on Opera 104.0.4944.36 and Arch Linux.

      Any ideas what's going on?

To resolve the thin white bar issue in Opera on Arch Linux when maximizing the window, follow these steps:

            • Update graphics drivers.
            • Check window manager settings.
            • Adjust Opera settings related to full-screen mode.
            • Disable browser extensions temporarily.
            • Review your desktop environment's window management settings.
            • Ensure your display protocol (Xorg or Wayland) is properly configured.
            • Keep Opera up to date.
            • Check community forums for known issues and seek assistance if needed.

@zibi1981 As far as I know, there is no solution. I tested different Linux distros on different systems. The bug (or, may be it's feature) still presents. You can use Chrome or Firefox instead. They have no such white strip while playing videos.

@pindos I wonder if there's some king of option being enabled/disabled by default that causes this issue, or maybe it's related to Lucid enhancements?

@pindos It doesn't happen on my Ubuntu 20.04

Opera 104.0.4944.36 installed through Snap Store

                    installed through Snap Store

This is the reason, because snap is a kind of sandbox. I use deb.

@pindos I see. I've heard that Snap is better overall for developers and more secure for users, being some of the reasons why Ubuntu now uses Snap as their "app store". I didn't know this kind of bugs could happen through other installation methods.

@darthgtb I tested Opera from snap on Ubuntu 22.04. The white strip at the top of screen is still present.

The problem is still present in version 105.0.4970.16.

OK, I have some kind of a hint - the annoying thin white bar is gone when I use "dark mode" on my Arch KDE. Will it be related to the display mode itself?

@zibi1981 that would explain why I don't see it. It's probably there, but since it's dark, it's not noticeable. I'll see if I can check that at the end of the day today
