          1. in the search bar (top right) digit intro; it appears Opera One Introduction
click in the drop down menu ed choose "Disabled".
            I tried, it doesn't work.
          2. use this to open browser you will have no splash screen in opera folders in local disk sent to desktop as shortcut works for me
It also doesn't work. Only the deletion of the file "splash" helps.

because Opera doesn't seem to want to allow the splash screen to be disabled from the opera web browser, as a compromise, please release a tool that automatically deletes opera_gx_splash.exe.

currently i need to manually delete opera_gx_splash.exe every time opera got updated.

opera_gx_splash.exe not only obnoxiously loud. it also makes Opera web browser loads slower. Because for some unknown reason, Opera developers decided to launch the browser after the opera_gx_splash.exe finished its process. Instead of launching both the splash screen and web browser simultanously.

After every update is acceptable, since I think it reinstalls all the files. But when you use it many times per day is annoying.
I'm not the discoverer of these tricks, I've just found them on the net. The first worked for me; not the second.

Please, write too, anyone, who can.

Devs, please delete this nonsense ''feature'' already i simply cannot ask to every single user to delete that file, and your average user will simply swap to another browser.

All you have to do is change the .exe to .old or some else.
Then it doesn't start again (works on Windows 10 & 11).
On Linux we don't have this problem with the intro.

I sincerely hope this is a bug and not a new "feature". I've seen this splash screen after upgrades previously, but now its every time I open my browser. Is there a bug making it think every startup is a fresh upgrade? Please fix it.

I've been using Opera since 2009 as my main browser across various operating systems and devices. If this is here to stay and works as intended I will switch to another browser. It's incredibly annoying and loud and adds nothing to the user experience.

@bluetreecat yes it is and so far the only way to fix it it's to delete on your own a file
Right click on Opera in Windows start menu or desktop open file location if sends you to a shortcut reopen again file location of that shortcut then inside the folder with current build 102.0.etc you must delete a file with opera_gx_splash.exe

Hopefully it will be fixed in next update.

@radenmas I apologize if I'm mistaken but doesn't the "Splash screen on startup" setting do exactly what you want?

Agreed with @Mrblock ... disable in Settings

Or use Linux, where the splash doesn't exist.

Or, write your own OS system script that deletes it 👍

Thank you. I found the .exe file and changed it to an .old file, did the trick. The darn flag probably is not even processed, even though it exists. Nothing in settings. I was ready to toss out Opera and go back to - ew - Firefox.

Yep, you can turn off the startup sound in Opera. Just go to Settings > Browser > on Startup and untick "Play sound". That will stop the sound from playing each time you open Opera. Simple as that.

Interesting why the developers are pushing everybody into a splash screen that mostly everybody hates and that does not helps anybody...not Opera and not the users...

Did not find the setting in my version to disable it...
