Is there any way to have Opera open in a new private window rather than having to select it from the dropdown or use the keyboard shortcut?

Hey, when you right click on Opera app in your dock it should give you the option to open new private window.

It does. You have to open Opera first (in a standard window) to get the right click menu. It would be nice if there was an option in the preferences to start Opera in a private window. Firefox does this as well as the option to delete private data on exit instead. This is the only major gripe I have with Opera at the mo.

We could consider this a as feature request, but personally I think users would like to have a choice to open Opera either normal or private mode.

You can start Opera from terminal to open new window in private mode directly with "-private" argument

I think there should be option box in Operas options. It's really frustrating to try to create script for command line argument. Really there should be a toggle in Options menu to allow this. Firefox has it already (Always open in private mode).
