I'd like a simple button to allow/block images (as in toggle the settings > website > Show Images option). I even tried to do it myself using the dev tools guide, but with only limited knowledge of HTML/CSS and and even less of C/Pascal (I did these things and college and uni, over 10 years ago), I found I could not follow it. Actually I'm still interested in learning how, if anyone has a good link to learning the basics, most of what I found (e.g. W3C schools) was aimed at website JS, rather than extensions specifically.

Wow, thanks, that was quick.
The only issue is that it gets a bit confusing when swapping between tabs. It remembers which tabs had images on or off, but the button icon displays whatever the last clicked state was in any tab. So if I have images on in two tabs, click to turn them off in the first, then swap to the second, the button shows images off when images for that tab are on. I would be fine with it globally turning off images, but not taking any action until a site is re-loaded.
Actually, it seems it only affect the last open tab. So open two tabs, click on the icon and it will reload the second tab without images, even when I am looking at the first.
No, more complicated than that. The first time I use it, it works on the tab I am on (regardless of when I opened it). From then on it continues to only work on that tab, until I open a new one, then it only works on the new tab, and not the original one.
Perhaps a global setting with no re-loading would be easier. This is how 'image block' worked on FireFox, which is essentially what I would like for Opera.
Thanks for the effort though.
Neil.

Just looked at the options and code, I didn't realise it was actually remembering the state of each site in the manage exceptions area. OK, that may have added to my confusion.

-i'd love to see tabvault again.
-perhaps a button to run browser in a text mode (linux has some text based browsers). its good for productivity, this way you can search and read etc without distractions.

why does it say "the extension was disabled because it is from an unknown source. go to the extensions manager to enable it"?
i can enable it sure, but why does it say that? isn't this an opera addon site?

biggerabalone: We can't find any obvious problems. Can you reproduce the problem if you uninstall the extension and try again? Do you have JavaScript turned on when visiting the page? It could be a timing issue if the relevant piece of JavaScript hasn't been loaded properly before you click the button. What is your Internet connection like?

I would like to use opera but I'm missing mouse gestures. Some are build-in, but only some basic and no chance to customize/add them.
I don't understand why mouse gestures are build in if they are half baked. Till Opera 21 developer PigToolbox gestures from chrome worked perfectly, now they don't. I had to switch to FF, just watching Opera if it gets better.

I need the following features before I can even consider to use Opera again as my default browser:
-
Bookmarks as in Opera 12.x
What the hell are Opera Devs thinking who they are? 5 Versions of new Opera and no usable (sic!) Bookmarks at all? This is ridiculous. -
tab groups
One of my most used features of Opera 12 was the ability to stack Tabs into groups. Five versions after launching a absolute unusable because featureless browser this absolutely necessary feature is still missing. -
editable keyboard short cuts
No editable keyboard short cuts at this time. If it were not a shame, I'd laugh all the time. -
Empty new page
I hate this crap on each new tab. I need a plugin to get rid of all this nonsense (stash, discover, Google search bar and whatever). I want a plain light grey empty page. Period.

We're looking into why this is.

How about https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/cleanpages/?display=en
better password support as part of Opera or an extension
Maybe https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/local-pass-store/?display=en does what you want.
kirsche40: stay on topic please.

A password manager where you don't have to put your passwords in the cloud, or on a third party website -- something close to what Opera gave us in the past with the wand. I don't want to put something in the cloud or on a third plarty website because of experiences where personal information has been stolen that way. It feels to me safer just kept on my own computer.

Something similar to the PopVideo extension available for Firefox... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/popvideo/
