Ventura 13.2 M2 Mac, Brand new
Signed in to my Opera account, bookmarks, history, etc synced successfully. In "advanced sync settings" below passwords there is a "Confirm your identity to enable encryption" button, pops up a page for me to enter my password. After entering password and pressing "next", page closes and returns to "advanced sync settings" with nothing changed.
Currently locked out of all my passwords!
Thanks!

@bvul I'm having the same problem. Trying to sync across two new computers and it's not working on either of them. Luckily I still have access on my old computer, but it's not feasible to copy all of them manually from there.

Same situation. Passwords are not saved, and after closing everything is reset. And this problem only on mac os, Windows works fine.

@DiZzy123 Sorry, I forgot to add the error. So when I open this url
opera://sync-internals
, I get the following error for password sync (every thing else syncs successfully)Error: MergeSyncData@components/password_manager/core/browser/sync/password_sync_bridge.cc:590, datatype error was encountered: Failed to add an entry in the password store.

it's been 14 days since this thread was opened. and neither an answer nor a fix came from opera. Probably the best solution is to switch to another browser.

Hi there pals. I've see a solution in another topic. And I tried. It worked for me. I hope it will works you for aswell
"Test this solution. Remove the Opera Safe Store password from Keychain Access login item.
Steps:
Open Keychain Access application
Choose 'login' keychain on left
Choose 'Password' group
Find 'Opera Safe Storage' entry, right click it and choose Delete."
