I am trying to use the utorrent extension. When I click on a torrent in opera and try to send it to utorrent, I get an error, and the torrent will not go to utorrent. Anyone have a fix for this problem. It worked on my old computer, but it crashed, and I am trying to set up the new computer, but I cannot get it to work.
I also tried it with a tor browser using a utorrent plugin, and I had the same problem. I am wondering if windows is blocking it.

Совершенно непонятно, как скачивать через это расширение. Ничего оно не подхватывает. Нажимаешь на торрент-ссылку, после чего выскакивает ошибка о том, что такой файл не найден. Что вписывать в поле "Адрес", если он уже заполнен?

@cfpct:
As far as i can see, the extension is just a user interface (front end?) to operate the ordinary utorrent application from within your browser. You still need the app to be installed. It will then not use opera vpn.I found this torrent website, accessible from any browser, no extension, but i didn't manage to get beyond 0% dl progress yet. It is suppose to work both with opera vpn and in tor, the ladder strictly prohibiting the use and possibly blocking it though.

Do I need to install a separate VPN program on my Windows to be protected? Or does it work with the integrated VPN from Opera?

It depends on, what you are afraid of.
A VPN would never protect you against fishing mails or malicious downloads, but is well suited if you do something on the net, that you would not like to get confronted with later, e g if you watch porn or expresses critic of your government or state. If you torrent copyrighted content, you definitely need a systemwide VPN capable of torrenting.
Torrent is an ideal way to get & share big files. And there are plenty of open source operating systems and other free stuff out there, but the likelyhood that people torrent movies is present. Many VPN prohibit torrenting.
Think about that your browser fingerprint goes right through any VPN. Sites you visit may not know your name but can follow you from session to session on the internet narrowing in who you are every time. You should use a 'fresh' browser every time with no bookmarks, coockies or extentions or any customizations at all.
This thread is about using a torrent client in a browser window and eventually through opera VPN. It would be the only way to torrent through a VPN tunnel for free. I have never managed to make that work. May be it is because the VPN is Canada based, and there it is prohibited to torrent through a VPN.

Why woul anyone need this?? Set the .torrent extension to uTorrent.exe in Opera and open uTrnt (hopefully kept attended to aka pinned visible) from the lower right tray instantly when needed. Additional routing is unnecessary and frankly counterproductive to any relevant function in either program.
