Oh, by the way, I noticed the same thing on my Macbook a couple of months ago and opened a similar threat in the Mac section of this board:

For a limited time security updates will be made so yes, it is still reasonably safe. But the older versions are increasingly incompatible with many websites (esp. popular ones) so you're likely to experience an increasing frustration level as sites will not load properly. I'm not sure why you feel the new version "sucks". Can you elaborate?
For your information, I use Opera 19 (same version that you downloaded) and I love it. It's fast, it opens all the sites I visit, it is constantly being improved and all of my bookmarks are stored conveniently in the bookmarks' bar.

he said it sucks because he can't figure out how to clear his history when closing the browser.

i can't give the answer you want, but you can use an extension to clear the history. click and clean is fairly good. use the chrome app to access the chrome store and get it for opera there.https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en
use a private browsing tab - no history recorded from this tab.

Rather than attack the person, do you suppose you could try and stay on topic which is "Clear Complete Browser History on Quit?" Now that we're in the new forum, it would be nice if old animosities were left behind. In other words... try to be objective and keep the personal comments out of the discussion. Thanks.
