@shiger: Go to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Extensions and delete folder kbmoiomgmchbpihhdpabemajcbjpcijk .
Then create a file named kbmoiomgmchbpihhdpabemajcbjpcijk and change its attributes: read-only and system, after that the extension will not be able to install itself -

As an alternative, I've been having pretty good luck with Librewolf which has much better security and none of this invasive crap, but do have to come back to Opera from time to time to allow big tech in for a bit to a few websites to function. -

@dicinson: Amazing! It worked, thanks! This should be posted on a forum somewhere. I found the exact folder and it was almost a year old but never noticed these problems until after Opera updated a couple days ago and a whole-page pop-up relentlessly would flash on top of my page every few seconds then disappear! It's incredible to me that Opera would succumb to this behavior and take the risk of losing a huge part of their client base. I seriously have a bad taste in my mouth for Opera now and am considering pulling the trigger. Thanks again for the hack.

For some reason this extension is showing me prices in Japanese Yen when I live in Australia. I can't see any setting to change it. My Amazon AU account always shows prices in AUD

Searching up stuff on this Extension can be a pain, But viewing stuff on Amazon's Shopping Cart isn't. Just glad it works.

Installed itself without permission, with permissions to read data on all pages.

Annoyed me so much I quit Opera and went back to Chrome. Was pleasantly surprised and remembered how everything just works (like Lastpass).
I still use Opera occasionally but if theyre in bed with big tech like Amazon, I might as well use the browser that works.

Today was the first time I encountered this Amazon add-on. A few users had problems with it and wanted, just like me, to remove it. I did, as soon as I found the easiest way out, just right-click (i.e. press ctrl and click, then choose delete).

@irdial: lmao opera works way better than chrome and uses a lot less resources. maybe your not a gamer as this browser is more ideal for gamers

For gamers, there is a special version of Opera, the GX. I use the standard version of Opera, which is now the 97.

I used this extension to add items to my Amazon Shopping/Wish Lists. Now, Amazon have killed this feature and have severely limited the usefulness of the Shopping Lists. I can find no way within Amazon to add external links to Shopping Lists as I had been able to, previously, using Amazon Assistant. Well, this just sucks...
