Opera 12.16 crashing from time of release Opera 15

Hello,
I don't know if somebody noticed, but exactly from time of release of Opera 15 Chromium my till then stable 12.16 started to crash maybe 3-5 times a day. Usually it simply hangs with empty screen and I must close it and reopen.
It happens same way and interestingly almost same time on two independent computers, my working desktop and my private laptop connected to different networks.
It almost looks like it is receiving some command from opera server to hang now...
I will probably repeat other topics, but new Opera 15 onward sucks and is unusable for me for real work. I was using Opera for 10 years as my working browser because of its stability, possibility to open really a lot of tabs (I was using up to 120 tabs open all the time). Those tabs were holding for more than year stable.
There is no such possibility with other browsers, they start to slow down after 5+ tabs and are using my precious memory 3times more than my old Opera.
And this started to be true for Opera too after version 15.
New Opera is slow, memory hungry, crashing, missing basic features as password wand, bookmarks, not able to cope with more than 5 tabs, using crappy download manager where I can not set destination before download and instead of one process in windows is creating bunch of processes each using memory and CPU time. -

Then don't use the new browser. And if v12.16 doesn't work well for your set-up anymore, try v11.64.

It almost looks like it is receiving some command from opera server to hang now...It's been 6 months now since version 15, and I've not seen any other reports describing 12.16 as having suddenly started hanging just as Opera 15 was released. While it might seem like a nefarious Opera server command is involved, that's awfully hard to believe, else it long ago would have been picked up and advertised by the more paranoid users among us. I have, however, seen sporadic reports since last January that 12.16 has abruptly developed stubborn hanging or crashing problems for some users. My own conclusion is that there may be some code inconsistencies within 12.16 that didn't get ironed out before release, during the several-months-long developer upheaval/re-direction period when Opera was moving from Presto to Blink. To me, the problem for you and others sounds a lot like some kind of triggered Opera file corruption issue, with the triggering element unknown. It's even possible a later Opera JavaScript auto-update may have triggered something flawed in your 12.16 versions, though I don't know if an update was issued right around the version 15 release timeframe. If browser JavaScript is left switched on, Old Opera, periodically (weekly) checks for and auto-updates any new browser JavaScript file that has been issued by Opera, and which indeed has been updated several times since 12.16 was released (the latest being 29 Nov 2013).
My advice in such cases (for a user having 12.16 "hangs" or crashes that stubbornly refuse to behave or be easily fixed) is to drop back to Opera 12.14. Install it into a non-default-named folder so as not to over-write the earlier Opera version nor auto-import the earlier version's personal and settings files (plus any possible corruption); then manually copy over just the personal files (and toolbars.ini file if relevant) to the new user profile location. This gives the user both the original and the later Old Opera versions, both fully usable, and both looking very much alike. If, after a time, the newer Opera install is found to work fine, the older version can either be removed or left as-is to be used when/if wanted.
