Can't share system audio when screensharing

Whenever I try to screenshare on Opera GX (any platform), it won't do anything if i check "Share system audio". I tried on Zoom, and on Discord. I select my desired screen in the pop-up, tick the checkbox, click "Share", and nothing happens aside from the pop-up window disappearing.
If I don't tick the box to share my audio, it starts screensharing. This has only become an issue in the last month or so.
