Opera GX takes a long time to import passwords from Yandex Browser and freezes

I had a problem from the very beginning of using the Opera GX browser. When trying to import passwords from Yandex Browser, Opera GX takes a long time to import them and freezes. I have to close the Opera GX browser through the task manager. It is imported from other browsers normally. What to do? I'm from Russia.

Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge don't have importers for Yandex. Only Opera and Vivaldi do. What you want to do is goto chrome://flags/#PasswordImport, enable the import flag, restart Opera, goto chrome://settings/importData and try to import passwords from Yandex. But, what you will find out in both Opera and Vivaldi is that the importer doesn't import any passwords from Yandex. It shouldn't freeze (not sure why it does for you), but it won't work.

Long story short, Yandex doesn't support an option to export your passwords to a csv file so that other Chromium-based browsers can import them. Also, Yandex uses non-standard fields for storing passwords in its Chromium-based profile (might even use a different file I think). This means that browsers that want to import from Yandex have to create custom importers. While Opera and Vivaldi have them, they're broken because Yandex changed things on them.

In short, if you can find a Chromium-based browser that will import your passwords from Yandex, you can goto the URL chrome://settings/passwords in that browser, click the 3 vertical dots to the right of "saved passwords" and export your passwords to a csv file. Then in Opera, you goto the URL opera://flags/#PasswordImport, enable the import flag, restart Opera, goto the URL opera://settings/passwords, click the 3 vertical dots to the right of "saved passwords" and import the csv file.

So, besides that, you'll either have to find some external tool that can do it or you'll just have to enter the usernames and passwords manually in Opera. Yandex just makes it a pain.
