even though we have not yet seen the full bookmarks manager reinstated. It's just another promise.If/When this feature will be off the list of demands, only hundred and some remain. Bookmarks still serve as an example what users have to go through and do in order to beat sense and usability into v.15+. And there will be features that won't return whatever we do, such as the email component.
For now, I'm glad to be on Linux so I don't have to suffer the woes of hopes, promises, waiting and testing. I can enjoy the Opera version I have.

To call Opera 15 "Phantom of the Opera" would be insulting to phantoms. Calling it "Opium" is an insult to Opie. So, I suggest calling it Chrome-Magnon, since it has only just begun the incredibly long trek obviously required for this lowly beast to ever evolve into truly modern browser. Sadly, I predict the corporate EMP resulting in the dumping of presto for webkit/blink will come to be known as the Operatic period extinction event.

The disadvantages are apparent as many essential features have been lost, at least initially. We all hope that many of these features (i.e. bookmarks) will be returned in a future update of v.15 and it appears that this will be the case. In the meantime,
Almost every feature have been lost.
Bookmarks is a very basic(and not unique since it have been implemented in EVERY browser besides O15) function, so it's not decisive factor here.
I am sure that the new Opera WILL NOT be restored as suite with a highly customizable UI and controls (which are on unmatched level), configurable browser's behavior, real skins support, etc.. Many Opera users won't tolerate this regardless of bookmarks. Because Opera leaving no alternative. New Opera is just an ordinary Chromium-browser + Opera brand + set of basic features.remain with Opera 12 which is still receiving security updates.
...and it's critical bugs (not security related) won't be be fixed.
Also, WWW would reject the support of an obsolete Opera. -

I hate to admit that Opera committed suicide. My default browser for so many years is no more. I have just tried v.16 hoping for a miracle that did not happen, It crashed when I tried to load the v.12 Bookmarks as suggested.
Gave up... keeping v.12 as a memento only, sadly! -

http://www.frech.ch/online-bookmarks/No longer in development but, I have happily used it for a number of years (14,000+ bookmarks in 2200+ folders). I grew weary of too many bookmarks files on too many machines, not to mention Opera's cpu thrashing with large bookmarks files and other such bookmarks BS pawned off on us as new features. :irked: I use a browser's bookmark manager very infrequently, usually only a toolbar for a few of the most oft used links (I despise all speeddials). I just successfully imported two small bookmarks sets (Opera 12.15 (Linux) .adr and Firefox .html) as tests before I do an OS re-installation. A little quirky (must create and/or select target folder before choosing file to import) but, it worked flawlessly!
All you need to make it work is a LAMP server (easy peasy with XAMPP for Windoze or Mac or Linux). localhost will do if a separate machine isn't an option. With a web server (Apache), PHP (Version 4.3.0 or later) and a MySQL server (at least Version 4.1) your bookmarks can be available in any web browser on any machine on your network ( :yes: , you can also make them available from outside your LAN, too.). Bookmarks can be public, private (user/password) or mixed.

Gave up... keeping v.12 as a memento only, sadly!Indeed. Version 16 is slightly better (it has my bookmarks & passwords), but where's the rest of it? It looks like they're trying to emulate Stainless browser (!!!), which itself is a novelty proof of concept browser that has tons of things missing.
I'm not sure what it is they're trying to achieve. When we see a newer version, we expect it to be an improvement of what's gone before. They've gone too far with making things idiot proof that it's insulting. I'll stick to Opera 12.

They're in the process of rewriting the entire browser from the ground up and that's why some of the features are not present. As each new version is presented, features are added. If version 12 suits your needs now, then stick with version 12 and keep an eye on the new browser. Just be aware that version 12 is the last Presto browser in that line.

So they should name it as being Opera Next or a beta version until it is fully re-written. Naming it v.14 or v.15 is misleading, that thing should never be publicly showed as a final release.

my experience on Andro-Tablet:
The BEST Opera mobile is V.12. Labs!!!
It works stable, minor crashes, Sesson are restored 80%(since month using a old tablet with 2.3.1andro), on Andro 4.1 it is the best User Experence.
Userfriendly, easy to use, bookmarks are in all devices synchronised: Win 7, Win mobile 6.1, Blackberry, Andro-tablet 4.1Suggestions:
- Session restore Option like in Desktop-version on Win7
- bookmark file (Export features)
- default player settingsMerci Opera!

Sorry but have installed Opera 12 (now called opera classic), Opera Mini, Opera 16 & Opera Next.
Opera mini is just plain crap... constant page refresh, poor caching and missing basic css support. Opera classic is crowded and overall a mess. The Blink builds are a huge improvement although still issues in reporting cache volumes to Android system. Currently moving most between FF and new Opera builds although Dolphin still gets fair amount of use...

Ooops. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. It'll probably set leushino off again. :devil:
(And yes, I did find a way to get back to Android v12.10. It wasn't hard once I started looking.)

Wellllll... it was a confession of sorts (sort of a "Yeah I was guilty but look at so-and-so"). :whistle: However, you're quite right. I AM guilty as charged. I'm going to take seriously the injunction regarding - "judge not, lest I be judged" I guess. Okay. Time to push away from the computer and watch some Netflix. No more bookmark menu at all...realy???? -if i wanna access my imense bookmark list i have to create that stupid incredibly long tile thing????
Wasnt it bad befoe,when i had to open the settings to look for my bookmarks,cose the damn thing didnt alowed me to put a bookmark button on the bar,now i have to scroll a STUPID infinite tile -witch i canot convert to a list,nore zoom out a bit,to find a page...
PUT A DAMN BOOKMARK BUTTON WITH A LIST THERE!!!
And if i try to tipe it in the search bar,no sugestions apear,as in firefox...i'm directed at some random popular pages instead!!!Ofcourse,i canot select a language at all to...

Why i canot put bookmarks in stash instead? -i have to open the pages one at the time,and mark them to have a list in "stash",if i want a list!
I will use firefox i gues...good job!
And ofcourse i am talking about opera 17 here,not 15. -
