Opera doesn't update when restarting browser

Running Mac OS X 10.13.0 64-bit

Opera prompts to restart browser to install the update, it restarts but doesn't actually install the update. Every time I go to About Opera, it downloads the update again, it's just an endless loop. I am able to download Opera from the website and update it that way but the auto update in the browser doesn't work.
