Can't clear history completely

Hello, I have a problem with clearing history. There are certain sites that refuse to disappear from my history, even when I clear all the personal data that are possible to clear.
The weird thing is, they do indeed disappear from history (CTRL+H menu), but they still appear as suggested adresses when I start typingin the URL/search field.
Any ideas? The only thing I was able to find online was that there should be a small X button next to every line in the adress bar which should be able to clear it from the suggestions, but I can't see it. This suggestion was valid for one of the older versions of Opera only most probably.
I'm using the latest (47) version of Opera and up-to-date Windows 10.

Read First: Autocomplete does not function quite the same in Opera as it does in other Internet browsers. The only way to clear all Autocomplete data in form fields is to clear your browsing history data as well. While you can delete a single page from the Opera browsing history, the address for that page will still be autocompleted if you type it in the address bar.
Open the Opera browser.
Click on the Customize menu button at the top left of the Opera window and select the Settings option.
On the Settings window, uncheck the check box for Use a prediction service to help complete searches URLs typed in the address bar.
Click the Clear browsing data button.
On the Clear browsing data pop-up window, select a period of time to delete browsing history data in the Obliterate the following items from drop-down menu.
Note: If you've been using Opera for more than 4 weeks, you may want to select the beginning of time option in the drop-down menu.
Make sure the Browsing history and Clear saved Autofill form data options are checked and click the Clear browsing data button.[/quote] -

I am sorry but this did not solve my problem. There are some items that simply refuse to disappear from history whatever I do, whichever guide I follow on the web.
I have a suspicion it has something to do with the online synchronisation of my data - I think they are stuck online, and even after clearing my cache, these entires get downloaded back from my Opera account.
