What is the last version that was not a Chrome/Brave clone

So frustrated to have so much time wasted by a forced update.

I have been using Opera for years, previously when it did an auto update I disabled it, at that time previous versions were all in the Install folder, but all that has changed.

Looking at the install folder everything is different now because it is a total clone of Brave/Google with a few tiny bits added.

Looking on web for history it says that the rendering engine was changed to Chromium in 2013, but WHEN was the whole towel thrown in and the front end changed to Google Chrome and what version do I need to roll back to for the old front end?

I have read the version history but it is not apparent which version changed

I am wondering that, as there was not a V59

Could it be that V60 was the one that changed the front end?

Thus IS THIS the version I need (in Windows)?

Hi @fckopera, if I'm not mistaken the last version of Opera that shipped with Presto instead of Blink was v12.18.

I think you may run into compatibility issues with several websites nowadays, that's a Feb. 2016 release and things have changed quite a bit since then .

O10 was the last real Opera back when it was 'Simply The Best' before it all went south. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well any more since a lot of the security certificates and tools have been abandoned.

I still use Version 10.10 Build 1893 for a few sites but once they change HTTPS settings, I lose them.

Old Opera was discontinued at 12.18. Opera then abandoned it and started a new browser from scratch that's based on Chromium. I forget the first Chromium-based Opera version that we got to test (it could have been 18 or something), but the oldest one on Opera's servers is 36. The old Opera never switched to using the Chromium back end and the new Opera never used the old front end. They're totally different.
