"As you probably know from personal experience, many of us open numerous tabs throughout a day of browsing, and end up getting lost between those related to work and those for side projects, such as shopping, home renovation or which movie to watch.

We are fixing this issue with our new Workspaces feature. Accessible through the sidebar, it allows you to simply create two separate areas, letting you open tabs related to a particular concept or project in one group, called Workspace."

"This lets you separate all of your tabs related to work - for example you can switch back and forth quickly. Being able to smoothly transition between contexts, not only puts an end to the uncomfortable managing, reordering and digging through tabs, but also helps you focus on what you’re doing by allowing you to compartmentalize the information you choose.

In the future Opera will allow you to create multiple Workspaces, and choose icons for them.

On top of the new context-specific workspace, Opera already features a search in tabs feature (Ctrl+Space), that lets you find a tab by typing part of title or URL.

Opera 67 also includes sidebar improvement, which enables you to add extensions such as Skype into it for easy access."

Sidebar setup panel

The Sidebar settings menu has been replaced with a new panel, which is opened from the "three-dot" icon at the bottom of the sidebar. The new panel is well-organized – making workspace and sidebar management more comfortable and intuitive. For starters, you are now able to edit, or remove all of the sidebar elements individually. Starting from the top, you can customize your Workspaces by adding, removing, showing or hiding them. Also, all of the Messengers are now listed.

In the Special Features group, you’ll find Opera’s features like: My Flow, Instant Search and CryptoWallet. Opera Tools is the last category, with browser management areas like: History, Downloads and Extensions. History and Bookmarks can now be opened from either the sidebar panel, or the full-page menu.

We would also like to present a new way of handling many tabs. When hovering a tab, any inactive tab in the same window and workspace, which has the same address is displayed.

Improved login process for Opera Synchronization

Opera Synchronization lets you synchronize your bookmarks, passwords and other Opera settings between your various Opera browsers. In this release, we are testing an improvement for signing up, and logging into Opera Synchronization. You can now log into your browser from a new site in a separate tab, rather than the previously-used popup.

Although it won’t affect daily usage much, this should make it simpler for new users to join the service, or to retrieve a backup, when starting Opera on a new machine. The new authentication site makes the steps for signing up easier to follow, and you’re free to interrupt and resume the process of using all the usual tools you have at your disposal, when browsing sites in Opera.
