can't remove new unwanted feature in start/speed dial page

In the last few days Opera (65.0.3467.48) added the "black friday reminder" section to my start page (below). I keep clicking on the 'X' to close it and selecting "Don't Show Again" and it keeps coming back (and showing again!). What's this thing called? How can I make it stay away? Thanks!

There's no setting to control this. Not sure why "X" and "don't show again" don't stop it from coming back though, but some users are saying the same thing.
I assume the promotions will end after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
