after installing opera (which i have to do quite often using multiple computers in multiple environments) I want to have my prefs and bookmars, so need to sing-in. and here are the problems:

      • sign in is 'hidden' in prefs. in all other browsers they suggest to sign in and sync while in O one need to know about it, look for in prefs,
      • then there is 'quite complex' process as it requires to add passphrase, and there is no 'wizard' instead one need to again click somewhere, look for something and so on. I know the process already but anyway but it could be done much much more user-firendly - e.g. add passpharse in the same window as user creds...
      • and last but not least - there is no option to use some password managers, as if only sign-in window is loosing focus, it is closed. meaning that there is no option to switch to any password manager in order to copy or autotype because creds window is instantly closed!

I'm really surprised how this feature, which is very fundamental in other browsers, is screwed in Opera /:

I do hope someone from support will read it and the heck do something about it. this should be easy peasy painless task and currently really problematic.

Yeah, Sync could be more discoverable. It doesn't seem to be advertised. You can find it via "Menu -> Synchronize" or in settings though as you've noticed.

then there is 'quite complex' process as it requires to add passphrase

That's for extra security. You don't have to do that.

and there is no 'wizard' instead one need to again click somewhere, look for something and so on.

Yeah, it's a little weird that if you remove focus from the Sync toolbar icon dialog while trying to enter your user name and password or when creating a new account in the dialog, it closes where you have to go back and click the icon and start over (click sign in again).

The experience could definitely be better.
