How to show multiple GIFs as still images

I want to select GIFs from the Tenor website but so many open, fully animated, on a single page that it makes my computer unresponsive. I've tried the 'Gif blocker' extension but that hides all of the GIFs, and opening them one at a time is just too slow. Is there any way to view GIFs as still images, which can then be animated one at a time as desired? Is this an option which Opera might implement perhaps at a future date? Thanks for your help.

I've found a solution which works with tenor.com, but not giphy.com:
a) Install the extension called ... "Install Chrome Extensions"
b) Search for "Gif Jam (Animation Stopper)" and install it from the external site, or use this link:Opera crashed the first time I did that, but it worked second time around. Tenor is slow to load but gets there eventually, showing the first frame of the GIFs only. I've not tried any other GIF sites yet. Hopefully Opera will add this function to their settings, sooner or later.
