What OS and what version of Opera? Can you provide links to specific pages that have the problem so we can test?

@blankoambit Can't test the vlive site myself. It either loads nothing or closes after a few seconds or redirects to some spam site (I'm in the U.S.).

For Twitter, videos and GIFs are playing fine for me in Opera (same version as you). I'm on Windows 10 though. Link to specific post that does it? Some videos can differ in their format and might only be able to reproduce an issue with some and not others.

After trying to play a video, goto the URL opera://media-internals and expand the section for the player in question. Then, look through the info to see what errors occurred.

Do you have an "N" or enterprise version of Windows 7?

Okay. I tried https://www.vlive.tv/video/154917 and it played fine in Opera. Tried 1080p, 720p and 480p qualities.

Can your Windows Media player play h.264 files?

Download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop, set "install for" to "standalone installation", uncheck "import data from default browser" and install. Test in that Opera but do not install any extensions and do not enable Opera sync.

How do things work there?

You can goto the URL opera://settings/system, turn off hardware acceleration, restart and try again. If that doesn't help, turn it back on.

Then, if you want, you can play with these flags:

opera://flags/#d3d11-video-decoder

opera://flags/#use-angle

What does opera://media-internals say after trying to play the video?

You can also hit ctrl + shift + i to load developer tools and look in the console to see if there are any errors.
