I recently had a problem with the Opera icon on my taskbar. I had it unpinned and open, but clicking the icon spored a new window instead of showing me the one that was already open. Hovering over it revealed my open windows, and a restart fixed the problem. What was causing it in the first place though?

Not sure, but on Windows 10, when you unpin Opera's taskbar icon, a lot of times, it will be removed visually but will still take up a spot in the taskbar that you can right-click. Restarting explorer or the computer will fix it. This leads me to believe that there's some glitches with Opera and the taskbar icon and your problem might ne related in some way.

Sorry burnout426, but it didn't help. The problem was that Opera was open on a Surface Pro 6 and unpinned, and I was in another app, but when I attempted to switch back it was clearly registering the app's ctrl+n command (new window). Like I said, a restart fixed things, but I want to know what caused it.
