      Hello,
In the past few versions the update process introduced some annoyances.

      1. Upon every update Opera recreates it's desktop shortcut, despite the fact that during the initial installation it was set not to create it.

      2. Upon almost every update, Opera changes its launcher.visualelementsmanifest.xml to default, resulting in a bright white icon suddenly appearing in the start menu, which is especially annoying, because windows requires the shortcut to be fully recreated or a third-party tool to flush its visualelementsmanifest cache.

This wouldn't be so bad if I only had one PC, but with a few more between work and home, it's quite disappointing, especially when it didn't use to be the case and when no other application I have edits its visualelementsmanifest after updates and everything respects the setting not to create desktop icons.

This seems to be fixed in Opera Developer. The fix should reach stable eventually.

I've seen users complain about it, but I don't think it's been addressed yet. I guess it's expected that you're not supposed to modify the file, but I can see the reason for wanting to.
