Messenger not receiving messages

I dont know where to turn or what to do, I have to manually update messenger in order to see what people
write to me. I can see the "typing" icon showing up, and then when they send it just dissapears and I can't automatically see what they wrote.. similarly when I write the message show's up as sent, but it shows the message as "not arrived to sender yet" ... I get the same issue when I just go to www.messenger.com.. so I don't really think this is opera specifik. but I tried to google for a solution and search these forums but I can't find anyone with a similar problem.. anyone know what to do? or try?

I reinstalled the browser, did not help
