How to close last open tab in Opera 12.16?

I recently reinstalled Opera 12.16 on my computer. I realize now I should've made sure to back up some of the settings files from before, but it's a bit late for that now. Still, I've managed to get my settings about right except for this one issue.
After closing all but one of the tabs, the last one can't be closed by any means. The 'x' on the tab disappears and keyboard shortcuts or mouse gestures won't work. To my knowledge, this can't be changed from the settings, but there exists a workaround somewhere on the internet that I had used before. I just can't seem to find it anymore.
Does anyone know how perform this tweak? The solution I had used before was probably a JavaScript, though I can't say for sure. The last open tab worked like any other and it was possible to close it and have the browser open without any open tabs.
Thanks for any responses in advance.

Have you tried 'O-Menu / Settings / Preferences... / Tabs / Additional tab options... / Allow window with no tabs' ?.

No, I hadn't, and now I feel stupid. With some of the other tweaks requiring JavaScript and whatnot, I didn't realize this one was so simple. Thanks for the advice!

Just one example why 12.16 is so superior in everything except rendering compatibility - actual, honest to goodness power user preferences and tons of customizability of the interface.
