Instant Search and Start Page designed to invade my privacy?

Yes, Opera ad blocker and anti-tracking features plus free VPN is great. It's why I switched from the Fox browser. But... the new "Instant Search and Start Page" features are designed to push searches to the most notorious privacy tracker on the planet, Google. I don't want Google spying on my searches.
Happily, I discovered I can use Google switch commands to override using YOUR default "Google Search Tracking Engine". I can type "d search subject here " or "b search subject here" to use DuckDuckGo or !Bing (who PAYS ME to search with Microsoft Rewards)
It is my preference. Please to consider honoring my preferences as selected in settings for the new Start page and Instant Search.
Feeling my searches have attempted to be subtlety redirected,
