Opera VPN iOS Adblock doesn't work!

I enabled the Opera VPN and yes Adblock is enabled in its settings. Yet all sorts of apps with the Safari Web View are still showing advertisements on articles I haven't read before (no caching!!!) the more annoying thing is your app then claims 100s of advertisements were blocked. Google Adsense and Doubleclick Advertisements are both displayed. Please explain why this is happening...
