Messages saying No Internet or Can't Find Server or DNS Not Found unless the window is active

I have a Toshiba Satellite 64-bit laptop running Windows 10 Home latest version, 8 g memory, 2 T hard drive.
This problem started occurring a month or so ago. I thought it would correct itself but it hasn't and is very annoying. I'm looking for suggestions/answers. Anything helpful.
When I put a url in the address bar or do a paste and go, Opera tries to access the site but about 80% of the time returns one of these messages.
No Internet or Can't Find Server or DNS Not Found
I have things downloading or have other sites, like Ebay or Amazon open and the open sites are functioning normally, so I don't believe these messages to be accurate.
I usually have multiple tabs open and it seems this occurs almost always when the window is in the background. If I bring the window to the foreground, (make it active?), and sit and wait on it, then Opera searches again and finds the site. Back when I first installed Opera, I found a setting (not sure I could find it again) that said Opera should process the windows in the background or something like that and I selected that option. I like to multitask, so I want the windows being accessed in the background so I can go back to them once they are available. It would be awful if I could only have one site open at a time or if I have to sit and watch each one and wait for it to open.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help. -

For the background loading setting you're referring to, you can goto the URL
opera://settings/userInterface?search=Delay%20Loading%20of%20background%20tabs
to get to it.As for the issue itself, download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder on your desktop, set "install for" to "standalone installation" and install. Test in that Opera. If it works fine there, it's probably an issue with your profile and or extensions.
Did you try disabling all your extensions to see if any are causing the issue?
