"Today we are introducing the initial beta version for Opera 57 and have some updates we would like to share.
Smarter newsWe are happy to let you know, that we have made the news section smarter. Thanks to improved, AI-driven news-retrieving mechanism, you will now get personalized news recommendations (once you agree to the terms, displayed at the bottom right of the screen).
You might also notice another change. Now, if you hover over any of the news stories, displayed in the news section below your Speed Dial, you will notice new like and dislike buttons. Clicking on them, will get you more personalized news in the future, based on your likes and dislikes.
Netflix recommendationsMany of us face the daily issue of which series to watch next. Well, we have just made it easier for you by placing Netflix recommendations in a special section in the news. That’s where you’ll find out first, which series have just been released on Netflix.
The recommendations will be switched on in selected countries, including: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czechia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The Opera 57 beta features also a new styling of the Settings page, which has now become more compact.
We have also improved the page-opening mechanism, to avoid flashbang impressions.
And, last but not least, you can now close pinned tabs without having to unpin them first.

- Changing wallpaper from SD’s context menu.
- Too much spacing between favicons on the bookmark bar.
- Popups opened in full screen mode.
- macOS Mojave users have a new shortcut for Snapshot, Cmd+Shift+2".

- macOS crash that might happen when some hints were displayed.
- No name nor favicon on dragged tab view.

We have heard your voices and, that’s why we made the search box an optional element on the Quick Access Panel. You can turn this option off in Settings.
Other fixes:
- Pop-up toggles doesn’t have a highlight when changed.
- Settings cleaning.
- Paste and go shortcut uses the proper focus again."

- Snapshot captures Disqus content again, and page content doesn’t disappear after using snapshot tool.
- Fixes for few crashes.
- Small translations fixes.
- No flash on Netflix tile hover, and a typo correction.
- Readable notifications in dark theme. -

Hi @temkem, if it's not reported yet, you can file a
report, using Opera's bug report wizard, most likely it should speed up fixing it. -

@l33t4opera The fact is that on build 58.0.3120.0 developer, the bug was fixed a month ago, but it has not yet been fixed on the beta channel.

@temkem Perhaps the fix will be included also in the Opera 57, if not then most probably in 58, when it reaches beta channel. I can't tell this for sure, because I'm one of the users, not Opera's employee, and therefore I don't have access to any internal Opera's tools, like e.g. bug tracker system. For that, you need to receive reply from one of the employees.
