Change the style of the captions in Video Popout?

I noticed when watching videos using the video popout on youtube that the captions have a dark background on the text, compared to the current settings I have made on youtube's captions - no background, outline shadow.

Is there a way to change the captions appearance in the video popout? I think it may be to do with css, but I have no idea where to look to change the css settings on the captions.
