      Several versions ago, Opera finally reduced the spacing between icons on the bookmark bar to allow more bookmarks on the bar. Now, in version 56, the spacing has increased and less bookmarks are visible.

      Please return the reduced spacing, or make it a user adjustable setting.

      As it stands now, usable space is wasted on the bookmark bar.

      If anyone knows a workaround, please let me know.

            It appears that Opera reverted to an older version of the bookmark bar as the animations are missing also.

              @simhomer

              Thank you for your response, as this seemingly "little thing" is driving me nuts! The sense I seem to get is that instead of a traditional "Bookmark Mgr", when we bookmark something, it simply goes onto a page similar in layout to our "Speed Dial" page, or some such nonsense, I don't know about you, & the other many fine people who love to use Opera as our go-to search engine, but I am very used to FILING similar files together in a folder, which is marked Banking, vehicles, writing ideas for future screenplays, etc, etc for easier accessibility....whether it be about my car; investments to look into; even a folder for all things related to ordering certain specific items for my dog. I can't seem to get an answer from Opera themselves, but if I'm correct in my assumption That I cant create folders for all things related: as on MSN, Yahoo, Gmail, ProtonMail, etc, then I guess I'll just pay for my own VPN like I have on my TV with my Amazon Firestick. Thank you!
              Sincerely,
              BarnacleBill76

                  Another new version: :56.0.3051.43

                  Improvements in the bookmark bar (mouse-over works now) , but not the spacing.
