Sync (from my mobile to my desktop) - cannot even to sign in (on my desktop).

Hi,
I've been using Opera for Android for a couple of years, so I've decided to use it on my desktop (linux /xubuntu) as well.
So I've just installed Opera (see details below) and tried to sync data from my mobile device (on which I'm signed in to my google account).However, when I've tried to sync (from my account to my desktop), it is impossible:
- I clicked on the "Synchronisation" icon.
- Some popup appeared.
- As I think I have an Opera account:
... What next? Now that you're signed in as ..., here's what you can do: ...

I chosenAlready have an Opera account? Sign In
.- I entered both my login and password, in vain:
Please, try again. Alternatively ...
What is wrong?

@petrik-skodik I would keep trying. Sync has been extremely tempermental for a long time now.
