When I try to watch an Amazon prime video I get this error message.

Your web browser is missing a digital rights component. In the address bar, go to opera://plugins and ensure Widevine Content Decryption Module is enabled. For further assistance, please contact Amazon Customer Service at www.amazon.com/videohelp and refer to error 7235.

Checking in opera://plugins indicates the Widevine module is enabled, but it would seem Amazon doesn't seem to think so.

Do you have Opera Turbo enabled?

Try it with it disabled. When you use it all of the pages you view are sent through Opera's servers and are compressed before being sent on to you. Since the site thinks the request for the page is coming from Opera it can cause problems with content protection.
