Opera 51.0: Sites with Videos are crashing or video does not play
for example: https://webcam.nl/zaanseschans/PCLinuxOS, latest version.

This is not actually a crash, but something that just fails to play because of opera's poor support on some video and audio codecs like h264 and mp3. It has been reported and discussed dozens of times.
Does pclinuxos package chromium ffmpeg codecs? If so, install that package and opera will detect and use it, so you will get better support on these kind of formats. -

@jimunderscorep thanks for your answer!
I forgot to mention that the previous versions of opera worked fine!
It is a crash:
Syslog says it is a segfault:
10.02.18 12:41 localhost kernel Media[10788]: segfault at 39 ip 0000000001648c00 sp 00007ffa9046f4e8 error 6 in opera[1647000+5237000]Tried with previous kernel and with fresh profile: no success
Cromium (Slimjet) and Firefox: no problems with html5- and flash-videos

FWIW running an old version of Ubuntu 12.04 that still had Opera 42.0.2393.94 and videos still play fine! Tested it out a bit and the only times Opera stalls is when trying to connect to their VPN which never connects and only offers Optimal location. Then nothing runs. Turn off VPN and videos and all run snappy and fine.

@cybrsaylr VPN is off!
(btw, the new VPN-design is unusable ... but this is another story )The previous versions of Opera worked fine, with and without VPN.
So i think this issue has nothing to do with the VPN-feature.Opera User since Version 3.x

The reason Opera 51.0.x is crashing on video is because it does not work anymore with libffmpeg.so from github.com/iteufel/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt which includes proprietary codecs to provide Opera with a better browsing experience.
