Sorry to say .. Yes gets reverted back to "ask" after you restart Opera 51.0.2830.0 developer update..

my guess devs intended this until ya did a restart for security.. umm lets ask developers lol

Could be.

I think it's code in Chromium that removes the setting as the setting isn't supposed to be used/supported anymore and the devs just have to force it somehow or remove the code that removes the setting.

Automatic update number 49 has caused a flash issue. I did not find a solution, so I uninstalled version 49 and installed 48 (48.0.2685.52). Everything went back to normal, I did not even have to reinstall Flash. I only disabled the automatic update of Opera: I deleted the opera_autoupdate.exe file from the Opera main directory and added the "OPERA_AUTOUPDATE_DISABLED" system variable, with a value of "1".
I'm waiting for the correct patch of Opera.

Thats great ! as long as ya don't require opera's built in vpn..
