A practical question re bookmarks

With XP expiring, I finally bought a new computer - using Windows 8.1. I downloaded Opera 20 and found that that it had no bookmarks panel. As I have been using Opera for many years, most of my bookmarks are on Opera 12.16 in my old computer, and when 12.16 would not open a site, I just copied the URL and pasted it in Firefox or IE, and I guess that's what I will have to continue doing on the new computer (hopefully). I find that I can install Opera 12.16 from File Hippo. If I do so, my question is : How do I get my bookmarks from my old computer's 12.16 to my new computer's 12.16. I will , of course in the meantime have uninstalled Opera 20

It is recommended to download old versions directly from Opera's servers:
http://www.opera.com/download/guide/?os=windows&ver=12.16&local=y
Old versions FTP
ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/win/
Just copy "bookmarks.adr" from the profile folder (Help, About Opera) on the old computer to the profile folder for 12.16 on the new computer, replacing the default bookmarks folder installed with Opera.
