Why New Speed Dial does not focus address/search bar?

I find it strange that when a new speed dial page is launched the address bar is not focused as in the desktop version. Also the thickness of the cursor could be bigger

I suppose if the cursor is blinking the keyboard would also have to be displayed. Maybe that's the reason

An instant keyboard would cover a lot of Speed Dial entries making the bottom half (or even the second or third row in some screen resolutions) only be accessible after dismissing the keyboard.
I guess it could be a matter of personal preference but that's the reasoning...

I just looked at opera developer desk top and the cursor not in the address bar either. Don't know why I thought it was. I have speed dial disabled in 12.17 so I am not sure how that behaves.
