How do I get Opera back to its pre-crash state?

The way I use Opera is such that if it crashes, I lose valuable work forever and ever.
That's why I've come to depend on Opera. Because it's so dependable.
Well, until about 2 weeks ago. Suddenly, Opera will just crash/quit out of the blue. And the projects I've been working on are gone. And unrecoverable.
Is there any way to bring opera back to its pre-crash state?
I've tried going to other browsers, but Opera has a key feature that I really like. And I don't want to change my habits.
Here's what I have:
Mac OS 10.10.2
Opera 34.0
Processor 2.5 GHz
memory 8 GB
The only plugins I have installed, for all my browsers, are the latest version of Flash and Java.
This happens with multiple tabs and with one tab open.
It happens with all kinds of sites.
I tried a clean uninstall of Opera. And I downloaded a new version, and yet it keeps happening.
Perhaps it's the new version?
Thanks for any help.
