I am running Opera 34.0 under Ubuntu 15.10. I did a minor routine update today that included Opera and now every time I open Opera, it asks me if I want to set it up as my default browser (even though it in fact is my default browser). Asking it to stop asking produces no results, and neither does clicking the appropriate button in Preferences. Is anybody else seeing this, and is there anything I can do to stop it? It's annoying...

Many thanks for your reply. Is this a fix that I have to institute manually, or will it be included (not too long from now) in a future Ubuntu software upgrade?

I have had this problem for months, still do on Feb. 29th, 2016. Seriously, Opera, how often do you want to know that I am friends with you. Yes, I still want you as my default browser. Yes, today as well. Yes, this evening, too. Yes, I like you. Ok, stop asking, Opera, you're making me upset...

Anyway, I'm wondering if Chrome on Ubuntu (which I use for Netflix) sneakily makes itself default?

            I'm using:

Version: 35.0.2066.82 - Opera is up to date
            Update stream: Stable
            System: Ubuntu 15.10 (x86_64; Unity)
