it seems that ads are blocked, but i thought turning on turbo made it go through opera servers... so not sure how it can block ads while having the data save feature activated as well. unless the adblock extension has turned off the turbo function?
can anyone confirm they can/can't work at the same time?

Yes.

Adblockers generally work by stopping the webpage from requesting the ads in the first place. Since the request is blocked from the source (your computer) you don't have to worry about what route the data of the webpage takes to get to you.

thanks, it seems strange why there is a slight contradiction b/c I had asked a question in the mobile forum, why opera for mobile devices didn't have adblock in addition to the data saving feature and got some flack for it. Actually someone there said (if i recall) that it wouldn't be possible to have both on at the same time, so I was quite surprised when the adblock was available with the desktop version and also was capable with data saver feature on at the same time. I was thinking maybe it was a bug, or maybe it just showed it was on, but didn't really save any data while I also had adblock on.
