Searching through Downloads freezes the tab

I'm running v. 44.0.2510.857 on Windows 10 and whenever I enter a few characters in the Downloads history search box that tab freezes for a good while (like 30 seconds). I hope this can be improved somehow for the next version.

That is not normal. Do you have any extensions installed?
