bookmark tiles

Is there any option for having bookmarks , particularly those imported from firefox, appear in a list instead of as tiles?

Yes. Hit the 'Toggle list view' button in the bookmarks manager. Its to the left of the search box. I don't know if they will have the same icons as in Firefox as I don't use the browser and have never imported anything from it.
