VPN - memory consumption

As soon as I turn on VPN my memory consumption goes through the roof. As an example I turned it on 10 minutes ago an and the opera task manager already reports the browser at 1.6 GB which will rise to 8 GB and more, completely immobilizing my Windows 7 system.

I was running regular Opera for Windows, but currently on beta (44.0.2510.433 (PGO)) because I was hoping for a better experience, but it's identical.

Anything I can do on my side?

This is a know issue, it happens to some users but don't know if in the last days any solution has been found.

Search on the forums, it should be an active discussion about VPN memory leaks with many posts and some options to test but none of them has been fixed the problem.

In the other hand, you may try with Opera Developer if needed, you can find it in Opera.com

If also fails, test with a new Windows User Profile as said by Burnout426, if the problem persist... something wrong in the Windows Installation.
