Opera won't download - pdf, mp3 etc

Opera doesn't download anything. I get a download dialogue box but when I select save nothing happens.
I have to use Chrome to download!Opera 37.0.2192
BlackBerry PRIV Android 6.0.1.
Also this forum defies convention - most have the new discussion box at the top!

BB? Far out! I was able to run Fennec x86 version on second Nexus phone running Android 4.0 and I have the same issue like you. Not if that counts, just saying.

Same issue here on Nexus 6 with nougat 7.0. Was working on marshmallow, stopped working when I switched to Nougat.
Dialog box opens, you can select and change both file name and folder, but nothing happens when you hit the "download" field.

Did you enable storage in app info?, Otherwise you cant download, permissions all off by default for me
