Problem with opening PDFs

V 29.0.1795.60 Intermittent problem.
When I download a pdf, sometimes it will not open properly - I just get various lines or sometimes isolated text. Refresh makes no difference. If I then go to, erm, Internet Explorer and open the PDF it renders fine. Having done that, if I then go back to Opera and try again, all is well and the PDF is correctly shown.
Any ideas what is wrong?
Thanks.

Me too. I can no longer rely on reading all PDF documents in Opera, I have to either change to IE or save to file and use the Windows 8 inbuilt Reader offline.
Can the Chrome PDF plugin reader be updated?

Having seen another thread about PDFs, I went to opera://plugins
The Chrome PDF Viewer was marked as 'Enabled'
So far, ..., since doing that, downloaded PDFs are opening fine.

Sorry, the above post should have read:

Interesting!
I went to plugins and found I had two versions of the Chrome PDF Viewer enabled:
Name: Chrome PDF Viewer Version: Location: chrome-extension://mhjfbmdgcfjbbpaeojofohoefgiehjai/ Type: BROWSER PLUGIN Name: Chrome PDF Viewer Description: Portable Document Format Version: Location: internal-pdf-viewer Type: PPAPI (out-of-process)
For now I will try disabling the BROWSER PLUGIN version and see what happens.

Well, that's no help in viewing PDF files with Opera.
Turning either version off means you can only download the PDF file. So, either download file and use Windows Reader or, for online viewing, use another browser!
"Things can only get better!" - Let's hope so...

You should probably use Acrobat's browser plugin if you want decent plugin support. The Chrome reader has all kinds of issues regardless if you are using Chrome or Opera.
