      Hello,

for a long time I used Opera 12.17 as I have problems with newer versions.
Simple example: I made an update from 28 to 37 - and lost all my open tabs. I have to reopen about a dozen of often-used tabs: is that normal?

Many functions well established in 12.17 do not work or do not work properly now:
The bookmark list imported from an older version is accessible via 5 or 6 clicks - much too complicated. In 12.17 there was a star symbol left of the window where I could easily open my bookmarks.
The bookmark list is not longer in alphabetical order bur random. Horrible.
CTRL TAB doesn't change between two tabs - a function I often use and need.

Is there a way that Opera 37 works as previous versions? I use Opera since V.3 ...

No. I speculate that making such a large version jump was the cause of the problem though. Generally you should keep the browser current. I've never had a problem like that if I keep current.

The bookmark list imported from an older version is accessible via 5 or 6 clicks - much too complicated.

Is it still in the imported area? Move it closer to the root of the directory. Either way you only need 2 clicks to access any bookmark in the Opera menu. Click the Menu, hover the mouse cursor over any holder to open it (no click) until you get to the bookmark you want to open and then click it.

You should also look into using the Bookmarks Bar if you need bookmarks readily accessible.

The bookmark list is not longer in alphabetical order bur random.

So sort it. Opera menu > Bookmarks > Right Click the folder you wish to sort > Sort Alphabetically.

CTRL TAB doesn't change between two tabs - a function I often use and need.

The default shortcut to cycle tabs are 1 and 2. If you don't like that shortcut, change it. That said, I am using Opera 37 and Ctrl+Tab works for me. The difference is that Ctrl+Tab has a tab preview while 1 and 2 switch immediately.

          Thank you for your help.

Editing the bookmark area is a little bit curious (for me) - took some time to find out how to delete / move entries.
CTRL TAB works in the meantime for cycling tabs.

And now I must create all my old & often used tabs :=(
