@marlies123 Why would it cause a conflict? Download the file marked as "Setup.exe" (without the "x64") and use that.

@Alpha-Kiman English please in this section, or post in the German forum.

RE: Opera asks for my fingerprint when I try to see my passwordsOpera for Android
@DavidLowel64 Opera asks the OS to encrypt and decrypt your passeords, so the OS will ask for whatever sort of identification the system is set for when you try to view your passwords. In reality Opera isn't asking you for anything, it is the system which does so. Same on desktops.

RE: can I use Opera on an old (8 years) Chromebook? Or a not so old (4 years) Chromebook? Or a brand new?Opera for computers
@dpskiff Don't recall hearing of Chromebase or Chromebox, what OS version does it say?

@Midzefx Example(s) - preferably with screenshots so we can compare what you're seeing and what we see?

RE: Opera crashes on opening SettingsGeneral
@mentallymental If you're willing to try, you could start over. Rename your old setup directory (while Opera is closed), then when you next run Opera it'll recreate the directory and it'll be just like a new install. Presuming that doesn't crash, you can then close Opera and replace the newly-created Bookmarks (favorites), passwords (logins) and even cookies with the files from your old setup directory. Sessions ... you could try, but half of the "crash on startup" cases are related to sessions so I'd wait to try that until everything else is working.

RE: Everything turns purple when I turn on modsOpera GX
@Miadite Mods can include "shaders" which change the way sites are displayed, such as a (fake) cracked screen and so on. There's a button in the sidebar to turn off shaders, if you don't like them.

RE: Remove Old DevicesOpera for Windows
@mvek I note that "Other speed dials" devices can be deleted, though I don't know if that has any impact on sessions as I don't use them. Though of course it is also possible to reset Sync and thus remove everything - on principal I recommend turning Sync off on all devices you still have, so that when you reconnect after the reset you know what will happen.

RE: bookmarks dont to use my "chosen" thumbnail (via "heart menu").Opera for Mac
@leonhardttobias The menu? The menu uses favicons, there's not enough space to show thumbnails.. The only places you could see thumbnails is in Speed dial or in the grid view in Bookmarks manager. Any list view, menu, or even the Bookmarks bar will show favicons.

@leocg Probably VPN Pro - I'm sure they'll ask when the time comes.

RE: Remove Old DevicesOpera for Windows
@mvek You can always change your computer's name, then delete the entries under the old name.

RE: Saved Passwords DisappearedGeneral
@NavusInc Oh, sure, but you'll need to remember your Sync password (which I suppose would be true of 1Password's password as well).. And I'm not sure how Sync will treat the fact that the same copy of Opera now has no readable passwords - it might think you just deleted them all and hence remove them from the server.
It's designed to sync between different copies of Opera on different systems, and handles that well enough. But the same copy? No idea.

RE: Saved Passwords DisappearedGeneral
@NavusInc The message is what would be shown if your settings file was unreadable (not your passwords themselves)), so it isn't just your passwords file..
Generally though, Opera is based on Chromium, and so should behave like Chrome. The first point being, your passwords, cookies and history are encrypted to your OSs user login, and unreadable by other users or on other computers. If that was your idea - to use it on multiple computers - you'll never get the passwords to work that way.. Perhaps using a password manager extension such as 1Pass would get around that security feature, but I'm not sure.

RE: I cant find the extensions(Backgrounds, text noises, ect.), gaming corner, limiting cpu, etcOpera for computers
@minecraftman6772 The stuff you mention is mostly features of Opera GX, which suggests that you downloaded Opera's other desktop browser (officially Opera One, but usually just called Opera Stable or Opera). Go back to the website and look for Opera GX or "Opera's gaming browser". Or click https://www.opera.com/gx

RE: I have a different opera "style" than my friend on mac.Opera GX
@RF448 The green looks like the "Vaporware" theme. No idea on the background, but there are various animated and even "live" (reactive to the mouse and such) wallpapers available. Just look at your settings.

RE: Yellow leters with black background and high contras on only one page! Anyone else?Opera GX
@AndyMedinaLanza Presuming it shouldn't be black, I'd say you stumbled across a shortcut to set the site to dark theme. Not familiar with that site, so can't guess. Opera has its own "Force dark mode" but that should apply to more than one site, so I have to think it is a site theme of some kind.

RE: The built-in ad blocker is not workingForum feedback
@username909099 Wrong part of the forum (Forum feedback is for feedback about the site), tell me your platform (device and operating system) and version of Opera and I'll move it.

RE: Extra background musicOpera GX
@ACoolerGuy1234 All I can suggest is to check your other sounds. Mods can include sounds, and there have in the past been extensions that played Youtube videos in the background as part of a scheme to increase "views" (and thus ad revenue).

RE: Microsoft Login IssuesOpera for Windows
@tech-wendigo Do you have MSN open in a tab somewhere? Or an extension related to MSN? Otherwise I don't see why MSN would care.
