@shodan-shodan Thanks. The Spash screen is very annoying. What did the product manager thing when they added that pain,

RE: How to disable extremely irritating CTRL + wheel zoomingOpera for computers
@sgunhouse Well I did that but it still does that zooms on mouse gestures. In my case on double click. It's a real pain.

@perroflauta That only solves the problem until the next update. And Opera gets very frequent updates. Might have to set up a cron job to delete the file every hour or so.

@cardiobike13 It's intentional. It's part for merging the standard Browser, the crypto browser and the gaming browser into Opera One — one browser to rule them all.
Which might have been a mistake as office user and gaming user have different needs.

RE: Opera Not responding - Solved FYIOpera for Windows
Works for macOS as well. My Opera installation fixed itself after about three hours. Note that I didn't actually open any window. Even closed the application. Just let Opera do its thing in the background.

RE: Opera "Not Responding" at Start-Up!Opera for Mac
@newbietoopera said in Opera "Not Responding" at Start-Up!:
renamed Opera Beta.app to "Bad Opera Beta.app" app (in apps dir)
So the problem already existed in the beta version but you didn't send a bug report to warn Opera about it? And now the “stable” version hangs while the beta version is fixed.
don't know why this worked .. but it did for me. whew!
In the name of all the stable users: Thank you! Well done!
PS: I just send a bug report.

@jfuioenk There is no setting for it and the splash screen should show up only after an update.
Now I'm tempted to deactivate auto update.

Was the “normal” Sidebar removedOpera for Mac
Up until now I used the normal (not slim) sidebar. I don't like the vertical dots and on a 27" iMac and don't need save every pixel. So I much preferred the slightly larger sidebar. But to my dismay that option disappeared. Or is there still an option hidden somewhere to have the non slim sidebar.

@proshor Has been removed but the outdated instructions are copy pasted over and over. Why @Zandocarl copy pasterd an instruction which doesn't work is beyond me. He says it himself:
Another way is this, but I tried and it didn't work
It just confuses those who miss the didn't work part.

@proshor Games. Games do that all the time. As such it's no surprise the offending program is called
opera_gx_splash.exe
— It's a feature from Opera GX gaming browser. Where it made sense. It makes absolutely no sense in an office Browser. -
RE: All Opera in one OperaSuggestions and feature requests
@vilivi Not possible. I hate the Opera GX splash screen. Not everybody want's every feature. There might be some features some users don't want at all.

RE: All Opera in one OperaSuggestions and feature requests
@vilivi Well, Opera One is that one browser to rule them all. Sadly that was a very bad idea as we now have the Opera GX splash screen in an office environment.
The browsers should have stayed seperate.

@lyviq Yes, you are not the first. There are existing Theads. In fact the Admins moved your post to the relevant thread.
