@h1andy There is opera://flags/#split-screen, so it seems to be work in progress.
This did the trick... hope to see this feature enabled and announced fairly soon!

@melving24 This worked for me, but I lost the items I had previously saved. They don't show up neither on desktop or phone. I thought this was saved on the web, somehow... Kinda dissapointing. It seems this feature needs a lot of work.
This is quite minor, but when you notice it... it's very annoying. The mouseover effect for the search tabs, minimize, maximize and close icons are misaligned. For the min, max and close it gets cut at the bottom, while the search tabs gets cut at the top.

I would like to have all my sidebar icons aligned at the top, instead of some in the center and others at the bottom. The current layout causes unnecessary mousing around.
In addition to allowing sorting, if there could be a way to put items added to the Flow into folders / categories, that would be very nice. Thanks to Opera not having the start button until recently, I alternated between Edge and Firefox for a bit and found Edge's sort of equivalent "collections" feature, to be very useful.
I've been swinging between Firefox and Edge the past few months, mostly because of this stupid start page button that Opera decided to remove. Today, when I started Opera and saw the update available, I really crossed my fingers hoping the stupid start page button would be there once again. I'm glad it's there. Please don't screw with it any more / ever again.
Now, if you could also add the ability to have the sidebar icons aligned at the top (or you know, give the user the option to align them), that would be great.
@joshkauff glad to see they finally see the light... I would also point out that I recently learned that hitting alt - home does the trick. Less intuitive than my muscle memory to go back home by clicking the start page button (as it's called by Opera), but a workaround.
@ppclarke said in Open Speed Dial in Current Tab:
My browser had ALT + home for speed dial. That will work for me.
That's quite handy and can probably get used to hit that key combination when I want to go back to my homepage re-using the existing tab. I still miss the good ol' home button Opera devs so rudely removed though.
They removed it. I noticed this while testing the beta, but I hoped somehow it would take into consideration that my version had the button enabled and would keep my choice enabled when it upgraded, but no such luck.
Kinda dissapointed this got forced on users with no option. I mean, turning it off by default and letting the user decide if they want it on or not couldn't have been too hard. If the devs really wanted to bury it, at least leave it as a flag that power users can enable.
Firefox, Edge and Chrome have this very basic feature. Not sure what could be the rationale for removing this. Seriously considering going back to Edge or Firefox as my daily driver.
Agreed, it should be an option in the settings, so who wants it can enable it and who doesn't can hide.
Currently in Opera One (version: 100.0.4801.0), the music player, flow, speed dial, etc. are located at the bottom of the sidebar (lower left corner of the screen). ChatGPT and the various integrated messengers are centered. There should be an option to also place the other sidebar icons towards the center of the bar... In fact, current Opera's (Version: 98.0.4759.39) is better as all icons are at the top of the sidebar, in other words, it's consistent.
I would love to have the option to choose the placement (top, middle or bottom) of the sidebar icons.
@comppros Yes, please. There's another thread with this request: https://forums.opera.com/topic/62148/request-add-start-page-button
@trifon81 I couldn't find such a button in the sidebar options. I found a "speed dial", but all it does is open a new tab. Unless I'm missing something. The difference with the "start page" in Opera stable, is that the "start page" gets the current tab back to the start page, instead of opening a new tab. I for one would really like to have a "start page" button, similar to Opera stable.
Is subtitle support for the mini player even in the works?
I mostly alternate between Spotify and DI.fm for my music. Spotify is currently supported, but DI.fm is not. Any way it can be added? At the moment, I've worked around the limitation by using custom site panels on my sidebar to access from the same location, but it would be nicer to have both in the official music player.
At least give the user the option to add a custom player or something along those lines...
I think it would be nice... I don't use Skype that much, but it would be nice to have the option.
Yes... I was pleasantly surprised by Edge's reader mode. I'm not going back to Edge just for the reader mode, but this would make a nice addition.
