Linux opera browser crashes on Debian-based systems whenever youtube videos or some other media are started to play.

The menu works both with a mouse click and Alt key on the machine with Ubuntu 18.04, but unfortunately it doesn't work at all on the machine with Ubuntu 16.04 (actually there is no O-menu there at all) - i don't know what makes that difference between the two Ubuntu installations (other apps also work differently on the two ubuntu computers) ?
As far as i can remember, the menu had worked before on 16.04 - it has stopped working since some previous version of Opera that i can't remember now.

I don't know exactly where the issue comes from but now microsoft edge also gets stuck at launch in exactly the same way giving the same error output as opera in terminal.
