@ds936 no workaround is necessary, you can disable them in the options. search for "reduce animations"

For the ones who can not find the Reduce Animations option in settings, just update your browser using Update & Recovery option from the menu.

Disabling the hardware acceleration is not a solution nor a workaround. It is like not using the browser to not to see the animation. Hardware acceleration is a need for other stuff like watching videos without problems.
